Brighton Datacentre Power Outage

The A-Feed UPS has been installed and commissioned and is now operating in online mode. Normal power protection for the facility is now restored.

The affected UPS has now been bypassed. Engineers are closely monitoring the situation. Please see the maintenance email notification sent earlier for more details.

Fastnet engineers are aware of a further power failure at the Brighton Datacentre. Power engineers are currently onsite investigating and can confirm the same A-Feed as the failure previously found this week. All systems are performing normally at the moment whilst we continue to investigate.

Supplier engineers have run a diagnostic test on the A-Feed UPS and have not identified any issues. We will continue to monitor the situation and have an emergency protocol in place in case of any further problems.

Power engineers are currently enroute to site to investigate the cause of the power drop earlier today - all systems are performing normally at the moment and Fastnet engineers are monitoring. If you require any assistance please contact the helpdesk on 01273 688088.

We are aware of a brief period of power instability affecting one of the diverse feeds to a portion of the Brighton Datacentre. Engineers are investigating and coordinating with suppliers to diagnose and rectify the issue.

Ethernet Outage

Network Engineers arrived onsite to progress troubleshooting the issue at 14:25. Whilst locating the impact equipment, network alarms resolved without any action being taken onsite. A Network Engineer will remain onsite whilst services remain under monitoring, should any additional support be required. No possible root cause has been identified at this time - one will be available when the investigation is concluded.

This issue is only affecting customers with circuits terminating in our London POP, and is linked to an outage with a specific carrier. Customers with backup circuits will have failed over automatically, and will fail back when the carrier resolves the problem.

Cyber Protect Backup Outage

Hello,

We need to carry out important work on some of our systems to improve them. We are planning on doing this between 22:00 (UK Time) Saturday 13 January 2024 until 06:00 (UK Time) Sunday 14  January 2024 (we may need a further 12 hours contingency in case we overrun). 

Email notifications for 20C and 21C Broadband Network Incidents, Major Service Outages and Planned Engineering Works will be unavailable for the duration of the outage. Service attachment files (csv) detailing end users impacted will also be unavailable. 

If a Network Incident or Major Service Outage were to occur in the outage window you will be notified following the completion of the planned outage.
