Who are you?
Rob Hitchcock, Helpdesk Lead - I've been a proud member of the Fastnet team for over 7 years. I love spending time with my wife and kids, playing guitar, learning about new technologies and taking part in running events.
What do you do at Fastnet?
In my role as Helpdesk Lead it is my responsibility to make sure my team are delivering consistent and excellent customer service, meeting ticket response targets and technically advancing in an ever changing market.
How do you keep yourself up to date with the latest information and products out there?
Working in the industry that I do, I spend a lot of my own time reading many articles on the web. It is important that we are aware of any forthcoming issues such as hardware vulnerabilities and that we take action prior to the event. I make sure I'm subscribed to the latest tech news feeds and check all sources daily for any important updates.
What's your favourite part of the role?
I love learning about new technologies, and that's why Fastnet is a perfect fit for me. There is always something new and exciting to learn and being part of a team allows me to share knowledge from my own experience and in turn benefit from my colleague's input. My favourite part of the role is working as part of a team, developing ideas and delivering a great customer experience that will remind them of why they chose Fastnet for their services.
What's been a highlight of your time here?
I've been given the opportunity to develop my abilities, prove my skills and go on to lead an amazing team. It's hard to pick one highlight just due to the amount I've encountered from my time here, although the highlight that continues shine throughout my career at Fastnet is working with colleagues who have the same desire to want to improve and to achieve.
