Cycling helmets aren’t usually part of the Fastnet dress code, but with 6 of us gearing up to enter two teams into the Big Dog Mountain Bike challenge on Saturday 11th August, it’s wise to get the training in when we can.

In partnership with the Martlet’s ‘Snail Space‘ campaign, we are taking our Feelin’ Groovy snail along for selfie opportunities and will be telling attendees all about the great work Martlets do. You’ll be able to find out why this street art inspired campaign is such fun to take part in. Cyclists will also be able to grab a free bottle of water from our stand, in order to cope with savage distance they have to ride. The recent sun has made for dry, fast trails – and we’re ready to go!

As something extra on the day, there is also a ‘Snail Race‘ which anyone can enter on the day. The slowest person will win the race… all that time balancing at traffic lights will come in to play here! It’s very child friendly, and will be a very affordable entry fee – so Big Dog spectators can have the opportunity to get on a saddle and find their competitive spirit. Prizes for the top 5 spots will include all sorts of bike related accessories, and there will be an extra special surprise for 1st place. For those of you who want to do something a bit faster, there is also the Clif Shot Lap, which anyone can enter on the day.
