What happens on installation day can vary depending on the type of service being installed, such as ADSL, FTTC, FTTP, or a leased line. Some installations may only require activation of the service, while others may involve an engineer visit to complete work on site.
Before the installation date, we will usually confirm the expected activation or appointment details with you. Once the circuit has been installed or activated, we should receive confirmation that the service is live and ready for use.
In most cases, we will provide the router required for the service. Depending on your setup, we may also provide additional equipment such as a firewall, wireless access points, or other network hardware.
If an engineer visit is required, please make sure someone is available on site and that the engineer can access the required areas, such as the comms cabinet, server room, telephone socket, ONT, or network termination point. It is also helpful to ensure there is available power nearby for any equipment being installed.
Once the service is live, we will complete any required configuration and testing. This may include checking connectivity, confirming the router is online, testing failover where applicable, and making sure the service is ready for use.
For leased line installations, additional testing and handover steps may be required before the service can be fully confirmed as active.
If we are also providing firewall or wireless equipment, this may be configured separately depending on the agreed scope of work. We will advise you if any further appointments or configuration work are required.
If you have any questions before your installation date, please contact our support team and we will be happy to advise.
