YMCA DownsLink Group is the largest regional charity in Sussex and Surrey working to prevent youth homelessness and support children and young people’s emotional and mental health. Their specialist services help children and young people feel safer, be more independent, advocate for themselves, develop life skills and self-confidence, and improve their emotional wellbeing and mental health.
YMCA DownsLink Group has many sites in Sussex and Surrey and 14 were prioritised for acceleration to a private WAN. They asked Fastnet to set up a Private WAN to enable them to connect their sites together through the Fastnet core rather than across the public internet. This is infinitely more secure while removing the need for independent firewalls at each site. As well as removing complexity of managing all the dated and independent firewalls from their network there was also a requirement to provide value for money and save on charitable expenses.
YMCA DownsLink Group was looking for an internet services provider they could work with long-term valuing the relationship and partnership that Fastnet could offer.
